We’re looking for a Principal Building Advisor to join our dedicated and knowledgeable team. Reporting through to our Building Services - Manager and working alongside a number of high performing individuals, this is a fantastic opportunity further your advisory or control officer career.

What you’ll be doing

A key member of our Building Services team, you’ll be responsible for leading and directing all technical and compliance standards of the Building Services Department. Acting as the Building Services team’s lead on technical matters, you’ll be first point of contact for escalation of complex issues. You’ll also take a lead role in both internal and external audits and the accreditation process. 

The role will involve:

  • Creating and improving on Building Services policies and guidelines
  • Providing technical and specialist advice to internal staff and assisting in achieving the Building Services department targets and objectives
  • Forming and managing expectations with customers and other stakeholders
  • Providing leadership on process improvements and ensuring processes are transparent and effective. 
  • Maintaining an understanding of changing industry standards and any changes in regulations

What you’ll bring to the role

Your key strengths will be in process improvement, the ability to understand technical issues, and relationship building skills. Experience within the building industry is preferred but not essential, if not you’ll likely come from a highly regulated industry (such as manufacturing or banking) and will understand the complexities of operating in a controlled environment.  

You’ll be able to interpret a wide range of legislation and standards and will enjoy staying informed on any changes. Your ability to quickly form strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will set you up for success in this role. Ultimately, you will have a strong desire to learn and will immerse yourself in the building services world.
